Most romantic rooms
In December 2007 Fosshotel Baron renovated 20 economy rooms and changed them into Historical rooms. According to our first customer feedback, the historical rooms at Fosshotel Baron are the chain's most romantic hotel rooms with real character. Here comes a little history about the Baron´s historical rooms. The French baron named C.Gouldrée-Boilleau moved to Reykjavik in the year 1898 and founded the first dairy farm in Iceland that had the main purpose to sell milk. He became a pioneer in that field. His farm was called The Baron-dairy farm and both Barónsstígur, the street, and Fosshótel Baron are named after the French baron. This is a preserved building and the furniture and decorations reflect that period.

Whale watching season 2007 starting soon in Húsavík
The whale watching season 2007 in Húsavík is only few weeks away.
Nordur-sigling will begin organized tours in April 20th, which is a little sooner than in the past few years.
From April - June there will be one trip each day at 13:30 but in early June, there will be added more trips to the schedule and up to 11 trips per day during July and August.
The first whales are seen by the coasts of Iceland in the spring, when they coming looking for food.
It will be exciting to see what species will be the first to arrive this year. Through the years, minke whales and white-beaked dolphins have been the most common species in the first period but humpback whales have also been seen. Hopefully, conditions for birds and whales as well as travellers will be at their best this summer and Fosshótel Húsavík and Nordur-sigling look forward to welcoming their guests.

The Jacuzzi, the massage lounges and the aroma therapy was our favorite and in addition we found the staff extra positive and nice. We would love to come again - until then, Thank you.
