A fun and merry occasion that has turned into a major attraction in Iceland for Icelanders and tourists.

Reykjavik International Film Festival

Reykjavik International Film Festival (RIFF) was founded in 2004 by a group of film enthusiasts and professionals. The festival in an annual international film event in Reykjavik.
Many filmmakers from all over the world visit Reykjavík for the festival and there has been a success from the start.

Imagine Peace Tower

The Imagine Peace Tower is a work of art conceived by the legendary artist, musician and peace advocate Yoko Ono as a beacon to world peace. The work is in the form of a wishing well from which a strong and tall tower of light emerges. The artwork has been dedicated on October 9, 2007 to the memory of John Lennon birthday.
Every year the Imagine Peace Tower will emerge between October 9th, John Lennon's birthday, and December 8th (the day of his death). In addition it will emanate on New Year's Eve and during the first week of spring.

Iceland Airwaves

Reykjavík - Akureyri

Since the first show held in 1999 (in an airplane hangar), Iceland Airwaves has become one of the premier showcases for new music, Icelandic and otherwise, in the world. It's been called "the most innovative music festival since CMJ" and "as responsible for all of Reykjavík's recent positive press as Björk herself". The festival is attracting bigger names in music and fans from around the world each year.
