Your experience at the Glacier Hotel Skaftafell takes you through a chill-out journey of the world of ice and glaciers.
On arrival your room key is frozen in a large ice cube. Just enjoy your “Fire on Ice welcome cocktail” until your room key is freed from the ice. Check into your specially decorated chill-out room, twin bed with glacier bedding, a design that embodies cool sophistication and creates a warmth and ambiance that invites you to envelop your body in pure luxury. Your chill-out room offers comfy pillows and romantic blue glacier and ice lights and a CD-player with chill-out music. In the bathroom awaits you a beauty basket with Ice Blue Soap and Glacier Shampoo. Your welcome chill-out dinner consists of iceberg salad medley, cold smoked lamb with béchamel sauce, served with a complimentary ice tea made of Icelandic herbs. For dessert you are offered Vatnajökull ice cream mountain and a delicious ice wine.
Spend your days touring and exploring Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier, Skaftafell National Park, Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon and the Glacier Museum in Höfn. We recommend tasting our Blue Glacier Martini in our Glacier View Lounge.
Included in your journey is an after dinner and non-guided tiki-torch hike towards the glacier edge for some Northern lights hunting. Last but not least, the melting glaciers after the ice age left for you since millions or tens of millions of years and beautiful farewell-present.
