How often do you spend time on yourself?
It may sound strange to some but devoting time to yourself can actually improve your relationships with others. Most of us feel pulled in numerous directions at once -with demands from our partner, work, children, home, etc. Take a little time out for yourself; you owe it to those around you as much as you do to yourself.
In order to offer you a calming and serene journey through the Norse mythology we have created a total relaxing and energizing atmosphere, underscored by a non-smoking hotel facility offering you tranquility, space, comfort and pure bliss. Many of the Norse gods will teach and help you de-stress, relax and revitalize.
Wellness and Norse Mythology
Our outdoor geothermal hot tubs and aroma-bath symbolize the three springs beneath the world tree Yggdrasil, The largest is called the "Roaring Kettle" and the smaller hot tub is Odin's well of wisdom and knowledge and the smallest one reflects the three Norns' magical well of knowledge. The goddess Sól invites you to enjoy her sun-lounge, used as an energy room where guests can experience an endless summer and a lot of light. Sól's energy room also helps relieve jet-lag symptoms. The water god Aegir navigates you through his world of multifunctional shower with steam bath, Jacuzzi, relaxation and massage jets. Try the lavender aomatherapy guided by the goddess Freyja and the magical massage lounger of the all-father god Odin. At our restaurant you will always find Idun's apples of eternal youth. To compliment your journey of well-being, order the bathroom butler service. Our bathroom butler has a wide selection of therapeutic oils, salts, perfumes and petals to suit your individual needs, and will prepare your bath so you can completely wind down.
Take a look at yourself and your lifestyle
It might be time to eat healthy, de-stress, relax and experience the feeling of being truly revitalized; in short, experience total well-being. A journey through Norse mythology at Fosshótel Reykholt provides you insight into a world of wisdom, spiritual might and holiness. The Moon Lounge is the perfect place to discover astrology, myth and magic. The Buddha lounge is decorated with Himalayan crystal salt lamps that emit negative ions, neutralize electro-smog and create a tranquil environment to improve concentration, relaxation and sleep. Breathing clean air is also believed to improve mental alertness, concentration and creativity as well as being a form of deep relaxation, producing a sense of calm and serenity. Therefore our gods recommend light walks in the hotel's neighbourhood or a short mountain biking tour to discover more of the pure nature of the Borgarfjörður region.
