Fosshotel Laugar is a 2/3 star type Comfort Tourist Class hotel, operated as a summer hotel, which is partly used as a boarding school during the winter. We provide spacious rooms with private facilties. The rooms are located in 2 buildings.
How to get there
The village of Laugar is located on road # 1 between Lake Myvatn and the town of Akureyri. Coming from Akureyri: drive road # 1 and about 15 km after passing the Goðafoss waterfall, also known as waterfalls of the gods, you will reach Laugar. The hotel is located on the left side of the main road and features several large white buildings with a red roof. The reception is located in the white building next to the main parking lot. A sign is above the door. There is an excellent new outdoor swimming pool next door to Fosshotel Laugar. The hotel buildings are used as a boarding school from September to May. Laugar is very centrally located to visit Goðafoss waterfall, the whale watching town of Husavík, Lake Myvatn and Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland.
