After arrival in Iceland, you will stay in Reykjavík at any of our three Fosshótels or similar.

Proceed to Reykholt area, where you can explore the scenic Hvalfjörður better known as the whale fjord and the saga valley Borgarfjörður fjord. Overnight at Fosshótel Reykholt. in the Borgarfjörður area at or similar. From Fosshótel Reykholt you can explore Snæfellsnes peninsula with its snow-capped volcano, stunning coastline, lava fields and bird colonies. In the region of Húsafell you will find many possibilities for a hike.

Drive north via Skagafjörður, the valley of the horses and home of Glaumbær turf farm to our Fosshótels in the North in Dalvík, Húsvík and Laugar.

From here you might drive to the peninsula of Tröllaskagi whre you can visit Siglufjörður, the herring-fishing capital of Iceland, and the historic sites of Hólar, the island of Hrísey. Explore Akureyri, the capital of North Iceland, and Goðafoss, the waterfall of the gods. Further attractions in the north are the sights of Lake Mývatn and the Tjörnes peninsula with Europe’s most powerful waterfall, Dettifoss (mid-June – August). In the evening you can enjoy to a whale watching cruise from Húsavík (april - October) or at Eyjafjörður fjord near Dalvík.

The next stop on your tour de Iceland is Egilsstaðir, it is a scenic drive through a large desert. In the capital of the East, Egilsstaðir, you stay in one of our partnerhotels, in the same category as Fosshótel. During your stay here you can drive along the shore of Lagarfljót, with stops at the large forest Hallormsstaður, and the waterfall Hengifoss. You can also drive north along the powerful river Jökulsá á Brú to Borgarfjörður Eystri and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Eastfjords. An other option is to visit the city center and relax in the city's swimming pool.

Glacier lagoon on the South Eastern part of Iceland. Drive along the scenic fjords of East Iceland to the south and overnight in Fosshotel Vatnajökull near Höfn, Fosshótel Skaftafell near Skaftafell National Park or similar. Enjoy Vatnajökull glacier, including spectacular glacier lagoons with fantastically shaped icebergs floating in sky blue water and the unique Skaftafell National Park.

Leave this area along the south coast and witness many natural wonders such as black lava beaches, waterfalls and glaciers. Stay in the area of Hella at Fosshótel Mosfell or similar. Here you can explore Þjórsárdalur valley with the waterfalls Háifoss and Hjálparfoss, the stunning ravine Gjáin and the viking ruins of Stöng. There is also a good starting point for a trip on the Golden Circle where you visit Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot springs and Thingvellir National Park, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Your tour to Reykjavík will be short at route number 1 or you might travel a long tour via Reykjanes peninsula. Where you can visit the Blue Lagoon, many lighthouses and a bridge over the continents. Enjoy Reykjavík and overnight in the city at one of our Fosshótels or similar.

Depart for home.
